WhatsApp has just received a new update aimed at the Android app in beta. The update introduces a novelty that emerged in a previous teardown and involves a specific section of the app settings.

The novelty consists of the new user interface which aims to monitor the use of the device’s internal memory by WhatsApp. The image below shows the new interface design, which has a more modern look and includes some new options. Among these we find the possibility to sort files according to the space occupied or the creation date. The purpose of these options is certainly to optimize the use of internal storage.

WhatsApp Expiring Media Feature Surfaced On Beta

The new section for monitoring internal storage used by WhatsApp reminds us of the options offered by Files, the app for managing Google’s internal memory. The novelty is included in the update that brings the version 2.20.201.9 of WhatsApp Beta, which is in the automatic distribution phase for users who have joined the beta testing program of the app.
