WhatsApp is Launching Ads in its App in 2020

WhatsApp is very soon launching adverts on its app. This means that just like Facebook, the user experience on WhatsApp is going to get disrupted with ads.

Being the largest communication app in the world, WhatsApp has currently over 1.5 billion users. It is an easy option for users to communicate with their friends and family members. However, now Facebook has decided to capitalize on WhatsApp as well.

Now the WhatsApp status section will be completely ruined as it will be flooded with advertisements. Thus, the people are extremely angry and they are threatening that they will stop using WhatsApp forever.

A Twitterati tweeted, “@WhatsApp are now introducing ads, soon as that comes in to play I am deleting it, I have enough of that shit on YouTube, Chrome, games, and about every other thing I use online. Back to plain old messages.”

Some of the businesses are quite content with this initiative as small businesses, retailers and startups can use this opportunity to boost and advertise their business. They would be able to streamline purchases.

This new change might be following the split between the founder of WhatsApp and Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg seems to be looking for new opportunities and business strategies to monetize his business.

However, in 2012 WhatsApp made a promise to its users that the platform would never be used for monetary benefits or to collect user data for business. But it seems to be happening now. Whether users would boycott the app or limit using it with ads in place is yet to be seen. For now, just get ready to watch unwanted numerous ads on your WhatsApp app.

  1. I think its a normal thing as we know every business holder set business to get some money. Nobody set a business just for free.

But one thing that could be a user-friendly they have to create two types of whatsApp Messenger, One for freebies with Ads and the second one without any type of ads which would be defiantly paid.
