Honor V40 Design Leak Shows Chronograph Camera

Honor V40 Camera

Last week the rumors around V40 and V40 Pro, the first two smartphones of the new era of Honor, were rekindled, following the recent sale of the brand by Huawei. The rumors until now were all focused on a crucial aspect, and that is the possibility of reviewing the Google Services on an Honor device, just as an effect of the separation from the parent company, which allows circumventing the US ban.

However, today’s leaks concern another aspect, namely the design: which apparently will be quite original, at least on the back. The link with Huawei Mate 40 and 40 Pro, if this were really the final aesthetic, would be marked: in front of the same double camera in a hole located at the top left of the display, and behind an important circular chronographic module.

If that of Mate 40 Pro however recalls the “click wheel” of the old iPods, this one of Honor V40 would be closer to that of Mate 40 base, with a full circle, but a different arrangement of the four sensors, and apparently inspired in phase from the layout of the chronographs.

Both images you see here have appeared on Weibo: the second is a render that makes concrete the assumptions of the first sketch, where, among other things, mention is made of the angle of curvature of the edges of the screen, equal to 88 degrees, and the dimensions of the hole in the screen optimized compared – we assume – to those of V30. For the rest, the rumors speak of a 6.7-inch panel with FHD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, a Sony IMX700 RYYB 40 MP main camera, and support for fast charging up to 66W and 40W wireless. Under the shell should be MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC, although Honor would be in talks with Qualcomm to secure Snapdragon chips with which to equip upcoming models.
