Fawad Hussain Chaudhry—the Federal Minister for Science and Technology said on Tuesday that the moon for the holy month of Zil-Hajj will be visible in Sindh’s capital Karachi and its surrounding areas today (Tuesday).
The federal minister, in a post on social media platform Twitter, said that moon for the month of Zil-Hajj was born on 20 July at 10:33 pm will be visible tonight. Chaudhry further added that in case of the cloudy weather, people can download ‘The Ruet’ mobile application to ascertain the exact location of the moon.
Earlier, the Federal Minister for Science and Technology announced that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Friday dated 31 July 2020. At that time, he said that at some places in the country, the moon for the month of Zil-Hajj can even be seen with the naked eye.
On the other hand, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet today (Tuesday) for the sighting process of the Zil-Hajj moon. According to the details, the committee, led by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, will meet at Met Complex in Karachi after Asar prayers.
It is worth mentioning here that Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees would also meet in Punjab’s capital Lahore, Balochistan’s Quetta, and KP’s Peshawar, while the district bodies will meet at their respective headquarters today.
