One of the leading bike manufacturers in Pakistan, Yamaha Pakistan has increased its bike prices. A circular has been sent by Yamaha Pakistan to its dealerships that just reveals that the bike prices have been raised. However, the reason as to why prices have been hiked has not been identified.
According to a local dealer, the prices have been increased due to fewer sales in the past months. This has forced the bike maker to increase the rates. Another reason for this is the slow economic activity in Pakistan that has greatly harmed the automobile sector.
The new prices will come into effect from Nov, 1st 2019.
The previous prices of Yamaha bikes were YBR125G priced at PKR 156,500, YBR 125 price was PKR 150,500, and YB 125Z price was PKR 133,500. The new price of YBR125G is Rs160,000. The new price of YBR 125 is Rs.153,500. The new price of YB 125Z is Rs.136,500. These prices are inclusive of 17% sales tax.
This is not a good season for automakers and bike manufacturers in Pakistan. Earlier Toyota and Honda also observed non-production days due to fewer sales. Also, the overall sales dropped by around 39% in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019-20.
