The PTI-led provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will launch a cable car project in the Upper Dir district’s Kumrat Valley which will the largest and highest one in the world.
According to the details, the decision was made during a session of the Tourism Department chaired by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Thursday.
The details said that the meeting granted permission for a detailed feasibility study and engineering design of the world’s largest and highest cable car. The 14-kilometer long cable car project will connect the Kumrat Valley to Lower Chitral’s Madaklasht valley.
The planners of the project said that the proposed cable car would be the longest and highest cable car in the entire world and it would attract more than 8 million local and foreign tourists in the province of KP. The planners, during the meeting, further said that this project would create employment opportunities for the local residents of the province particularly and boost the economic activities.
The members of the meeting were told about the major features of the world class project and that the estimated cost of the project would be around 32 billion Pakistani rupees.
It is pertinent to mention here that apart from the main attraction of the cable car, facilities will include a car parking space, a restaurant, and other allied facilities.
The session was also briefed that the feasibility study of the world’s highest and longest cable car project would be completed in five to six months.
