The trend of ride-hailing companies in Pakistan is gaining popularity with each passing day. Also, many companies focus more on women empowerment, their wellbeing, and importance as their USP. Pink taxi is a name in the ride-hailing industry that has its main emphasis on women.
So the women-only Pink taxi service has launched in Islamabad on 8th March. Their aim is to give the women of Islamabad an opportunity to grow and succeed. On International Women’s Day, this great initiative was taken. This taxi service was inaugurated by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA and former deputy speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi.
The goal of the inauguration was to try bringing a positive change in society by empowering the women. It is important that all authorities, government, organizations all work together to create an equal society in Pakistan and all over the world. Gender discrimination in any field should be discouraged and condemned.
On the inauguration, Mr. Kundi said, “the women-only Pink Taxi Service will provide comfortable and safe traveling facilities to the women of the twin cities”.
Now the women should move ahead, take this opportunity and become part of women empowerment. Opportunities are now knocking at their doors, it is time they avail them and make a name for themselves in a still men-oriented world.
Pink Taxi service is just for women, an opportunity for them to utilize their talent, use their skills and grow.
Even here the harassment with, women continue as Shamina Bano a driver with Pink Taxi Service said that the harassment we experience is the professional risk of this job. The best practice is to ignore such people—they would soon get accustomed to sharing roads with us.
