Women arrested at Islamabad Airport for Alleged Foreign Currency Smuggling

Foreign Currency worth of Rs3.85 million was confiscated by the Airport Security Forces (ASF) at Islamabad International Airport on Sunday.

A Woman was carrying Rs.3.85 million worth of foreign currency including British Pounds, US Dollars and Saudi Riyals, the woman was identified as Zubaida Begum successfully cleared the customs counter but she was held at the checking counter by the ASF staff.

The ASF has thwarted a big money smuggling attempt at the Islamabad International Airport on Sunday, no further details were provided about the incident, however, the ASF has arrested the women and transferred the case to related authorities for further investigation.

The government has become very strict about the money laundering, the government agencies including ASF, FIA and FBR are directed to curb money laundering in Pakistan which is the huge loss to the national exchequer. The illegal money transfer from Pakistan is costing the country tens of millions of dollars every year.
