The Department for Schools Education has extended the winter vacations due to an increase in the cold in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As per a notification, all the schools throughout Punjab would be reopening on the 7th of January instead of the 1st of January.
In the meantime, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—Mahmood Khan has also extended the winter vacations, and now the schools in the province are reopening on the 7th of January.
Cold weather has gripped the entire nation. Earlier the schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab were to start the educational activities on the 1st of January 2019 that is today.
Back in the year 2017, some schools extended the winter vacations owing to the extreme cold weather and smog issues. Smog is associated with many health-related problems, keeping the health of children in mind and the danger smog possess the vacations were extended.
Vacations may they be more or less are equally enjoyed and are the much awaited time of the season both for the parents and their children. Many families plan their fun activities and trips as per the vacations schedule.
In the province of Sindh, the educational institutions have started their activities since today.
