WhatsApp Dark Mode has Finally Launched

WhatsApp dark mode feature has been making rounds for ages now. We kept hearing in the news that WhatsApp is working on a dark mode.

Finally, WhatsApp’s dark mode is launched in the latest WhatsApp beta update 2.20.13 pushed to the Play Store. The dark mode of WhatsApp uses dark hues rather than completely going black.

It is a little disappointing but still better in comparison to the long-standing light mode. It is hoped, though, that we see a black mode in the near future as it will allow bigger battery savings when using a phone with an OLED screen.

You can either manually enable the dark mode or have it follow the system theme settings if you have an Android 10 operating system. This means that WhatsApp will automatically go dark if you have enabled system-wide dark mode.

This new color scheme will be applicable to the chat menu, setting page, calls tab, contact list, and other menus. WhatsApp users can download the latest version of WhatsApp beta from the Play Store.

In an earlier article, we told our readers that the smartphones operating on Android 9 or older versions would have the Dark Mode linked to the battery levels of the smartphones. It would be activated automatically when the smartphone is getting low on battery and would be disabled when the battery levels return back to normal. Users would be getting three options to choose from which are Dark Mode, Light Mode, and set by Battery Saver.
