During the week ended Feb 18th, the Weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the Combined Group hiked by 0.55% compared to the previous week. While on a YoY basis, the SPI hiked by 9.92%.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the Combined Index was 143.63 compared to 142.85 on Feb 11, 2021. Whereas the index was 130.67 a year ago, on Feb 20, 2020
Of the 51 items, 25 witnessed an increase in prices, 8 witnessed a dip, and 18 remained unchanged during the week.
The data further states that the SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 0.54% and 0.58%. The lowest income group (LIG) observed an increase of 0.55%, and the highest income group (HIG) witnessed an increase of 0.54%.
Whereas on a YoY basis, the increase in SPI across all quantiles was between 9.06% and 10.99%. The yearly SPI for the LIG increased by 10.78%, and for the HIG, it increased by 9.06%.
