Fayyaz Chohan—the Information Minister of Punjab has said that a talent hunt contest would be launched next month in the province of Punjab. The contest is referred to as the “Voice of Punjab”, as per the reports of ARY News.
As per the minister, the contest would begin on the 2nd of March in which aspiring singers would be taking part to show their possessed talents. The event would assist the nation to boost its musical industry.
He added that selections would be made based on merit purely, and without any discrimination. The auditions would be conducted from the 2nd of March until the 4th of March.
The previous month, the minister, while revealing a few features of the contest had mentioned that the event would start from Multan.
He also briefed about the process for participation by saying that the aspiring singers might send their voice notes over in WhatsApp or on the telephone numbers of the department to audition.
Fayyaz Chohan during a meeting in this regard said that 20 aspiring singers from 4 different regions would be given the training by famous professionals before a grand finale is held. For this purpose, a 4-member committee would be formed to be led by the directors of Regional Arts Council.
He also gave assurance that the financial affairs of Voice of Punjab would also be strictly monitored.
It is pertinent to mention that the first 3 winners of the contest would be presented with the cash prizes of Rs500,000, Rs300,000 and Rs100,500 respectively.
