All the workers of the utility stores have decided to go on strike from Friday if their demands are not met, announced Syed Arif Shah President All Pakistan Workers Union.
This development came a day before the start of Ramadan. Negotiations took place yesterday between both the Managing Director and Chairman Utility Stores Corporation and All Pakistan Workers Union which failed.
The President All Pakistan Workers Union said that this strike will continue until and unless all demands are accepted. He further said that the government has also decided to pay extra wages to the store workers as they are working hard in the coronavirus crises daily, also the government has announced to provide every worker with the safety equipment as well to protect them from getting infected with the deadly virus.
Prime Minister Imran Khan needs to provide immediate orders to solve the problems of the utility store workers in such a crucial phase, says Syed Arif Shah.
On the other hand, the provincial government of Sindh has finalized the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the month of Ramadan.
