Utility Stores to Offer Commodities on Subsidized Rates from 2 May

The state-owned utility stores would be offering the essential commodities on subsidized rates from the 2nd of May following an official implementation of the new prices under the Ramzan Relief Package.

Consumers would be getting 19 items on subsidized rates on all the branches of the Utility Stores Corporation—USC under the relief package.

As per the announcement, the following commodities would be provided on the subsidized prices:

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet on the 17th of April instructed the USCs to accelerate the procurement of the essential food commodities so that timely relief could be provided to the people in the holy month of Ramazan.

A 4-member Committee was also formed led by the Minister for Railways—Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for looking after the implementation of the Ramazan package.

Prime Minister has also given out directives to all the provinces and to the interior ministry for forming an effective price control strategy and to ensure the availability of essential items of daily use during Ramazan.

The PM also instructed to ensure that gas and power are supplied continuously during the holy month, especially during the Iftar and Sehri time.
