The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced 2021 Fulbright scholarships for the Pakistani students.
USEFP has announced the Fulbright Student Programme and Fulbright Higher Education Commission PhD programme for the Pakistani students. The program entirely funds the PhD study at the apex universities in the US.
The deadline for the application submission for the scholarship has been set as 13th May.
The US ambassador Paul Jones while the launch of the programme said that for nearly 70 years, the US-Pakistan education alliance has supported the students of Pakistan and the US and the faculty of both the countries as well for teaching in each other’s nations under the Fulbright programme.
He said that the education exchanges remain achievement of the US-Pakistan relations, and the government of the United States is pleased to support the students of Pakistan with diverse backgrounds to obtain the graduate-level education of the highest standards. He also said that the knowledge and the expertise that these professionals would gain would be enhancing the human capital and would contribute to its long-term economic development, which is a great example of the US and Pakistans’ alliance for prosperity.
The Fulbright programme in Pakistan covers the living stipends, travel expenses, health insurance and the tuition fee for the complete period of study. Women, students from the rural and underdeveloped areas and the specially-ables people are highly encouraged to apply.
All the different disciplines are encouraged to apply except for the studies in clinical medicine. Applicants who are studying the agriculture, social sciences, publ health, education, water, journalism, arts and culture management, mass communication, energy, security and peace studies and data sciences disciplines are highly encouraged to apply.
USEFP is a bi-national commission that was formed in the year 1950 by the governments of Pakistan and the US. Since it has been formed, more than 7,500 Pakistanis and 900 Americans have taken part in the USEFP managed exchange programmes.
