US Visa Duration for Pakistani Citizens Reduced to 3 months

The American embassy announced that a new visa policy is devised for Pakistani citizens. The US has reduced the visa duration for Pakistan journalists to three months. Earlier the visa for the US was issued for 5 years. But now to Pakistani journalists, the US will just issue a three-month visa.

This is effective from 21st January 2019. For a temporary work visa, journalist and media visa, intercompany transfer visa, religious worker visa additional fees will be charged, if the visa application is approved.

The extra fees would be paid at Embassy Islamabad or Consulate General Karachi.

The additional fees for ‘I’ that is Journalist and Media Visa will be $32.

For ‘H’ that is Temporary Work Visa, ‘L’ that is Intercompany Transfer Visa, and ‘R’ that is Religious Worker Visa additional fees will be $38.

The validity period of the visas will also reduce. For I visas it will be 3 months. For H visas it will be 12 months. For L visas it will be 12 months and for R visas it will be 12 months.
