Morgan Ortagus—a spokesperson of the US State Department— on Thursday termed the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to the United States as successful.
Morgan added that the talks between the President of the United States Donald Trump and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan were a triumphant episode.
While talking to the media in Washington DC, she said that it is a time to move forward and grow deeper relations with Pakistan as the meeting between President Trump and PM Khan gave a chance to the United States to build a personal connection with Pakistan.
“During the meeting with President Trump, Prime Minister Imran Khan vowed to urge Taliban to negotiate with the Afghan government and we think this is an important step as we are also committed to peace in Afghanistan,” she added.
“The intentions of the United States to restore peace in Afghanistan cannot be suspicious in the eye of the rest of the world as we hope that Afghanistan decide its future itself,” she added while talking to media reporters.
