A warning has been issued by Met Office regarding urban flooding in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi divisions. Widespread rainfall can lead to urban flooding in the above-mentioned cities.
The weather forecast shows that monsoon rains and thundershowers are expected in the northern half of Pakistan from Friday to Thursday.
The forecast said that moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are unceasingly penetrating in northeastern parts and are likely to continue & become more powerful in the upper parts of the country from Friday evening or night. Also, the westerly wave might enter upper parts of Pakistan on Sunday.
Rain, thundershower from moderate to heavy falls with windstorm will be witnessed from Friday evening or night to Thursday in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu divisions.

In isolated places in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, heavy rainfall is expected.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding in Hazara, Gujranwala, D.G.Khan divisions and Kashmir areas which can cause a landslide.
Urban flooding possibility is evident in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi divisions during the period mentioned.
