University of Jamshoro Bans Use of Social Media for Teachers

Use of social media has been banned for teachers at the University of Jamshoro in Sindh. The Dean of the university took strong notice of social media usage by teachers. They were misusing social media to tarnish the image of the university by disseminating fake news.

The committee constituted by the Dean has thus, banned the social media use for the teachers. The committee was given the task to deal with the problem of confidential information being leaked along with the duty to control the spreading of fake news.

According to the press release issued by the committee, those found violating the ban will have to encounter strict disciplinary action.

The meeting was attended by deans from different faculties including Dr. Abdullah Dayo, Dr. Hafiz Abdul Ghani Shaikh, Dr. Hakim Ali Kanasro, Dr. Akhtar Hussain Mughal, Dr. Zareen Abbasi, Dr. Abdul Sattar Almani, Dr. Bashir Rind, Ali Raza Mirani and Registrar Ghulam Mohammad Bhutto.

The members of the meeting agreed unanimously to name any violators of the ban to statutory bodies so that necessary action is taken against them.

Social media is extremely powerful, but misusing it can have repercussions. Thus, let us use social media to spread love and compassion rather than hatred.
