United Brands Limited has decided to discontinue its consumer products in Pakistan. The company traded in distributes consumer goods and allied products in the country.
Pakistan Stock Exchange issued a notification that stated that United Brands Limited has decided to end its products in the country.
The brands include Mars, Wrigley’s, Haleeb Foods, Unilever, Heinz, and IFFCO. All these brands, their products & services will no longer be available in the country.
As stated by the company, this will result in revenue loss of around PKR 58 million per month. Regarding this action taken by United Brands, no other reason was given.
United Brands limited used to distribute consumer goods in the country which includes food items, chocolates, confectionary, tea, flavored milk, drinks, cereals, sweetener along with skin care, baby care and cosmetic products.
Earlier United Brands Limited was known as UDL Industries Limited and later in April 2006 it changed its name to United Brands Limited.
It is pertinent to mention here that UBL was one of the leading distributions houses in Pakistan with expertise in not just imports and distribution but also sales and marketing. Leading baby brand Johnsons, luxury chocolate Lindt, known skin care brand Clean & clear were on board with UBL. So now UBL ending its operations in Pakistan would impact the economy of the country.
