Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General has reached Pakistan on Saturday night for a 4-day visit.
He would be visiting the Kartarpur and the Gurdwara there alongside addressing a conference on the refugees. The Secretary-General would also be meeting with President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi during his visit.
He announced about his arrival in Pakistan through a Tweet and said that the country was one of the most consistent and trustworthy contributors to the UN peacekeeping efforts across the world.
Antonio Guterres was received at the Nur Khan Airbase by the Permanent Representative of the UN, Munir Akran and the senior officials of the foreign office and UN in Pakistan.
On the other hand, as per the latest development, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has called off the Pakistan tour due to the workload of the players. On Friday, the CSA expressed their inability to pay a tour to Pakistan next month, giving assurance that PCB that they would be honouring the commitment of sending their side as soon as it is possible to do so in a reasonable manner.
