Two international automakers have entered the Pakistani market. One automaker is from China and the other is from Malaysia.
The Chinese automaker Changan motors has not just entered the Pakistani market but also launched a range of LCVs in Pakistan. Similarly, Malaysian automaker Proton has also entered the Pakistani market and will soon launch its vehicles in Pakistan.
Changan has introduced Changan M9 in the market and it is available at Changan Motors’s first authorized dealership in Lahore. The price of the vehicle is Rs919,000.
Changan Karvaan, M8, and M9 will be launched by Master Motors having the price of Rs 1,000,000, Rs 850,000 and Rs 900,000, respectively. An SUV will be launched as well in 2020.
Both M9 and Karvaan have 1000cc engine paired to a 5-Speed manual transmission. It makes 68 hp at 6000 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm.

Master Motors was granted Greenfield investment status from the government. After that, it signed an agreement with Changan Motors on 29th June 2018. And finally in September Master Motors will launch Changan vehicles in Pakistan.
Proton, on the other hand, signed an agreement with Al Haj Automotive Private Limited to manufacture, assemble and launch electric and eco-friendly vehicles in Pakistan. Al-Haj will distribute modern Proton hatchbacks, sedans, crossovers, SUVs and MPVs in Pakistan. It is reported that Al-Haj has acquired a separate land in Karachi for an assembly plant for Proton Cars.
