The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Kashmir is as important for us as it for you.
He addressed a joint session of the Parliament today. He reached Islamabad on Thursday evening on a 2-day visit on the invitation of PM Khan.
This was the 4th time the Turkish President has addressed the parliament of Pakistan and made him the international leader with the highest number of Pakistani parliament addresses. The joint chiefs of staff are also at the parliament for the address.
He was invited to the house by the MNAs and seniors pounding their desks. The national anthems of Pakistan and Turkey were played in the national assembly before his address.
The Turkish President began his speech by thanking the MNAs and the senators. He also lauded his welcome in Islamabad.
He said that he has never felt like a stranger ever in Pakistan and added that he feels like he is in his own home. He also praised the closeness between the people of the two countries.
He extended his good wishes and greetings of the people and the parliamentarians of Turkey. He also said that they share a common history.
Relations between Pakistan and Turkey were set by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
He also said that Pakistani women sold their jewellery for supporting the independence movement of Turkey, and said that Turkey could never forget the people who assembled to pray for it.
He also said that Kashmir is the same to us as it is for you. He added that Kashmiris have been facing difficulties for years and our prayers are with the people of Palestine, Kashmir and Cyprus.
