Turkey plans to build warships for Pakistan.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Zafar Mehmood Abbasi Chief of Naval Staff Admiral both participated in the steel cutting ceremony. A contract was signed between Pakistan and the Turkish navy in 2018 according to which Turkey is going to construct four MILGEM-class corvette warships for Pakistan.

Turkey is known in the world for maintaining, designing and building warships.

Out of the promised warships for Pakistan, Turkey would be building two of the warships in Pakistan with complete transfer of technology and intellectual property rights for its design and the remaining 2 warships would be manufactured in Turkey.

The Turkish president also commissioned the domestically made TCG Kinaliada warship from the Turkish navy.

Pakistan is determined to outshine in defense capabilities. This association between the two Muslim countries would improve the strategic partnership and security of the region between Pakistan and Turkey.

President Erdogan on the occasion also said that the two nations—Pakistan and Turkey enjoy exemplary relations. He also said that there exists a great potential for collaborations in the field of defense production.
