Trump to welcome Imran Khan in the US, White House confirms

The White House on Wednesday confirmed that a meeting is scheduled between the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and the President of the United States Donald Trump on July 22.

A statement issued by the White House mentioned that President Donald J. Trump will welcome the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the White House on July 22, 2019.

As per the details of the statement, the visit of PM Khan will focus on strengthening cooperation between Washington and Islamabad to bring peace, stability, and the economic prosperity to the region that has seen far too much conflict.

The statement from the White House added that President Trump and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will discuss several issues, including counterterrorism, defence, energy, and trade with an aim of creating the conditions for a peaceful South Asia and an enduring partnership between the United States and Pakistan.
