Trains are experiencing delay after the collision near Hyderabad.
A train track in Hyderabad was restored after 15 hours on Friday after a passenger train collided with a freight train at Makli Shah near Hyderabad.
At least 3 people lost their lives in the incident on Thursday when a passenger train collided with a freight train at Makli Shah. The people who died in the incident include the driver, fireman and the assistant driver.
As per the railway officials, the engine of Jinnah Express and cargo car was removed from the track by crane.
The train schedule of Karachi trains was disrupted with trains travelling to the interior possibly facing 2 to 3 hours delay.
As per the Railway officials, Shalimar Express reached 8 hours and 45 minutes late while the Awami Express arrived 14 hours and 50 minutes late to Karachi.
Hazara Express which was due to reach at the Cantt station last night at 9:55 pm has yet to reach the station.
Aftab Akbar—the Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways said that there were 2 unauthorized people present with the driver and the assistant driver in the engineering area at the time the accident occurred.
He said that the collision was owing to the ignorance of the driver and the assistant driver. Akbar further said that it seems that while driving they were socialising, and the driver missed the signal and was not able to pull the emergency brakes.
He further added that the initial investigations reveal that the driver put a late break.
