The traffic police would be starting a crackdown operation against motorbikes without side mirrors. All such motorcycles would be fined from the 1st of November.
The city traffic police have been putting in all the efforts for improving the traffic situation in Lahore. New much stricter laws and amendments are introduced to the present system to curb traffic violations.
Some days back the city traffic police initiated a crackdown against the motorcyclists travelling without wearing helmets on the roads of Lahore city. So far thousands of bike riders have been fined by the police. The efforts have shown good results since it is clearly noticeable that every biker in the city is wearing a helmet now especially while commuting.
For making the traffic situation better and for reducing the accidents, the city traffic police is all set to launch an extensive crackdown against the motorcyclists who do not have side viewing mirrors on their motorcycles.
Side view mirrors are really important, as they permit the rider to see the traffic behind. This actually assists the drivers in making turns just by looking at their back.
In Pakistan, however, it is mostly seen that the side view mirrors of motorcycles are removed when the bike is purchased. This is a serious concern when it comes to road safety as it leaves the biker literally blind from the backside.
The city traffic police would start putting heavy fines from the 1st of November on motorcyclists that are riding without side view mirror.
This is a good initiative as it ensures the safety of both the bike rider and others on road.
