Toyota, the leading Japanese automaker in Pakistan is working on a Corolla XLI and GLI replacement. Indus Motor Company (IMC) will be launching 1,300cc Toyota Yaris by the end of 2019 or early 2020, as per the reports.
Already Toyota is working to manufacture parts for Toyota Yaris, as per the vendors. The production of the vehicle has already started. The reports suggest that Toyota will not be launching Vios, however, Yaris will hit the Pakistani market in six to eight months’ time. Both Yaris and Vios are alike in terms of their dimensions, suspension, and other features. The interior of both vehicles is also quite similar.
The vendors said that they are planning to provide parts to IMC by either November or December 2019. The aim is to launch Toyota Yaris by January or February 2020.
One of the vendors, on condition of anonymity, revealed that the ‘vendors have already started parts development of Yaris.
Earlier we informed our readers that two biggest automakers in the country, Honda and Toyota are halting production in Pakistan for a few days. Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan (HACP) closed its plant for 10 days starting from last Friday.
