Toyota Pakistan Shuts Down its Production Plant

One of the leading Japanese automakers, Toyota IMC has shut down its manufacturing plant for an indefinite period of time. A public notice was issued by the company stating this.

The notice states that the current conditions due to coronavirus globally have resulted in delays in delivery and production schedules. This will also affect national and international supply chains. The Indus Motor Company production plant will remain closed as per the government and advisory issued. IMC has requested its customers to have patience in these testing times.

The plant will remain closed until further notice is given. The production plant has been closed from 23rd March 2020. Earlier it was thought that in April the plant will resume operation but a green signal has not been given by the government.

However a few days back the government did give a green signal to a couple of industries to begin their work, which includes the construction industry.

The notice stated, “Due to the international economic conditions and the fluctuation in the FOREX index, regretfully the prices of our products and vehicle range are being revised. The new prices will not affect any full payments made however if a customer requires a refund, they may approach our Customer Assistance Center (CAC) which will process a complete refund without any penalties or deductions.”

Other than Toyota Pakistan, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), Honda Atlas Cars Limited, Al-Haj FAW Motors, JW Forland, Master Motors, Hyundai Nishat Motor, KIA Motors, Regal Automobiles, and United Auto Industries have not started their operations either.
