A brand new variant in the Fortuner lineup has been introduced by Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC). The variant is Toyota Fortuner TRD. The new trim level provides cosmetic improvements to the pre-active Fortuner trims like the G, the VVT-i and the Sigma 4.
There is an extended front bumper included in the cosmetic upgrades. It has a skid-plate, an all-black grille along with a TRD decal underneath the Toyota emblem, blacked-out B, C, and D pillars, few black and white striped TRD decal that begin from the center of the front doors on either side and goes up to the rear bumper along with a new 18″ alloy rims set.
On the back there is another extended bumper with black garnish. It moves across the car’s width. The rest of the rear is almost the same.
The Fortuner TRD has taken the engine and transmission from Fortuner Sigma 4, thus it has 2.8 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel engine. It makes around 180 horsepower at 3400 RPM and 450 newton/meters of torque at 1600 RPM. The car has a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The interior of Fortuner TRD has almost similar features as other trims like dual-zone auto AC, holder for sunglasses, push start, smart infotainment system, etc. The seats are of leather material and there is cool storage in order to keep the beverages cold.
