Toyota IMC is launching its first hybrid SUV in Pakistan. This SUV will give competition to Kia Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson in the near future. It is surprising that Toyota would be launching this hybrid SUV in Pakistan alongside its global release.
Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tuscon have a 2.0L engine. It is confirmed, however, that this new Toyota Hybrid SUV will be equipped with a 1.8L engine. Also, the vehicle will be completely hybrid and it will run on Electric Vehicle (EV) mode.
The car will be environment-friendly and it will benefit the consumers as it will be fuel-efficient as well.

If a comparison is made between a 1.8L Civic/ Grande and a 1.8L Prius in terms of fuel efficiency, around Rs. 500,000 can be saved using a hybrid car.
Initially, the Toyota SUV will be imported as a Completely Built Unit. But then depending on its success the SUV might be locally assembled later. This is good news as not just the SUV will be brought to Pakistan but also the technology which can be used to build hybrid SUVs in the country.
