The tourism spots in KP will remain closed during the Eid holidays in order to avoid gatherings owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, as informed by the Minister of Labour and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai.
The minister quoted the advice of the health experts of social distancing behind the reason for keeping the tourism spots closed.
Swat, Murree, Naran, and Kaghan are the most visited spots in KP where the locals as well as the foreigners come and visit.
He also said that they have taken the decision to keep all the tourism spots shut at least until Eid as they do not want people to come in or go out of the province often as that might lead to worsening the COVID-19 situation.
He further added that all the hotels are being shut for the Eid hence even the opening of the tourism spots would have made no sense.
The minister also said that after Eid-ul-Fitr, the government of KP will be formulating a plan to jump-start its tourism industry that has suffered owing to the pandemic.
