Top 10 Wealthiest Countries in the World 2017-18 Revealed

The Wealthiest Country in the World is the United States. A report from New World Wealth confirms that as in 2017 the total wealth in the USA amounted to $64,584 billion.

Total Wealth = Private Wealth Owned by all People Living in the Country. It includes property, cash, equities, business interests. Government funds are excluded from the total wealth.

China is the second wealthiest country in the world with wealth amounting to $24,803 billion.

Japan lies at the third place with total wealth $19,522 billion.

4th place is given to the United Kingdom with total wealth amounting to $9,919 billion.

5th place is given to Germany with total wealth amounting to $9,660 billion.

India is the 6th wealthiest country with total wealth amounting to $8,230 billion.

The 7th wealthiest country in the world is France with total wealth amounting to $6,649 billion.

Canada is the 8th wealthiest country with total wealth amounting to $6,393 billion.

Australia is the 9th richest country in the world with total wealth amounting to $ 6,142 billion

At the 10th spot, we have Italy with total wealth being $4,276 billion.

Also, the report revealed that the best progress in the global wealth market was seen in India. Its total wealth went up from $6,584 billion in 2016 to $8,230 billion in 2017. A 25% growth was displayed.

Also, China’s wealth went up by 22% and overall global wealth swelled by 12%.

It was noted that in the last 10 years, India’s wealth increased from $3,165 billion in 2007 to $8,230 billion in 2017. This is a 160% increase. India is a home to 3,30,400 individuals having $1 million in net assets, 20,730 multi-millionaires, and 119 resident billionaires.

The report stated, “In general, it was a good year for all W10 markets, thanks to strong global stock market gains – the MSCI world index was up 23 percent and the Dow Jones (DJIA) was up 26 percent during the year. Wealth held in China, India, USA, Japan and Australia all grew strongly over the past year”.
