A demand has been made by Chairman Transparency International Pakistan (TIP), Sohail Muzaffar and the Board of Trustees to British and UAE government. They have asked the governments to instantly freeze properties, possession and bank accounts of those Pakistani’s holding dual nationalities.
The ultimatum is given in response to the decision made by Supreme Court on 28th July 2017 on disqualification of Nawaz Sharif. The demand is made to ensure Rule of Law in the country is implemented. A recent happening in Pakistan where Nawaz Sharif did not declare his assets and Aqama of UAE and had to leave his office has led to this demand.

Pakistanis are also asked to come up with their tax payment certificates on procurements from Federal Board of Revenue, Pakistan. Also to verify legal transfer of funds from the country a certificate from State Bank of Pakistan is demanded. If Pakistani’s are unable to show evidence and legal documents the governments of UAE and Britain are asked to transfer their assets to Pakistan government.
Sohail Muzaffar further demanded that like a USA Citizen living outside the USA is required to file a tax return on annuals basis, Pakistan government should structure similar rule for Pakistanis inhabiting outside Pakistan. Muzzafar has asked to cancel the six months nonresident’s tax filing exemption. He said such exemptions lead to corruption.
He requested from Supreme Court of Pakistan to take action against this exploitation of law which has caused massive money laundering and is upsetting the economy of Pakistan.
