Three participants of Azadi March sit-in lost their lives in Islamabad

As many as three participants of the ‘Azadi March’ staged by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUIF) in Islamabad have lost their lives on Wednesday morning.

As per the details, Maulana Saifullah died as he suffered a heart attack at the time of Tahajjud. On the other hand, Molvi Akhtar Muhammad died of illness.

Another 55-year-old participant of the ‘Azadi March’, the resident of Larkana, Abdul Kareem Jan felt a heart attack and was rushed to the Pakistan Medical Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) by the fellows where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

It is pertinent to mention here that the protesting participants of the sit-in have placed their living camps on the concrete surface of the Kashmir Highway Islamabad due to the rain and thunderstorm in the capital city of Islamabad.

On the other hand, Imran Khan—the Prime Minister of Pakistan, through a tweet, said that he directed the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to immediately visit the site of the sit-in to assess what relief can be provided to the participants of the Azadi March sit-in.

“I have directed the CDA Chairman to immediately visit the dharna site to assess what relief and assistance can be provided to the dharna participants with the onset of rain and changing weather conditions,” PM Khan said.
