National Counter Terrorism Authority of Pakistan (Nacta) disclosed the names of six prominent politicians who could be attacked by the terrorist groups during the ongoing election campaign in Pakistan.
The six people are including Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, Asfandyar Wali and Ameer Haider Hoti from Awami National Party, Aftab Sherpao chief of Qaumi Watan Party, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Akram Khan Durrani and Talha Saeed the son of Hafiz Saeed.
Moreover, the authorities said that there are threats to the senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
According to the reports, Nacta had forwarded 12 threat alerts to the Federal Ministry of Interior and provincial home ministries as well as the law enforcement agencies working in the country.
Rehman Malik, Committee chairman has directed the Ministry of Interior to provide the foolproof security to the six prominent politicians of the country for whom the threat alerts were issued.
