The water level in River Sutlej increasing rapidly destroying houses and crops

It has been observed that water level in River Sutlej increasing rapidly, river Sutlej is one of the five rivers in Pakistan.

According to the details, the water level at Ganda Singh Wala was recorded 20 feet on late Wednesday night with 60,340 cusecs of floodwater passing through the Headworks.

The dozens of the villages on both sides of the riverbed were overflowed with the floodwater. Due to the overflow of water, several houses and standing crops stretching over hundreds of acres have been destroyed.

An official of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that the flood water inundated as many as 18 villages of District Kasur. He further said that a total of 1220 persons have been rescued from the villages that have been affected with floodwater by the local administration. “Another 1613 persons have been shifted to the safer places,” he added.

He further said that as many as 900 people have been sifted to the safer places by the local administration of Okara and the relief camps for the affected people have also been established. The overflowing floodwater has also destroyed the standing crops in Manchanabad area.
