The UK blames Iran for drone attacks on Saudi oil installations

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson said that Britain has concluded that Iran was responsible for the drone attacks on the oil installations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

PM Johnson said that the United Kingdom will consider taking part in a US-led military effort to bolster the defence of the Saudi Kingdom.

Boris Johnson further said that the United Kingdom will work with its allies to de-escalate the tensions in the Middle East.

While flying to New York for the General Assembly, PM Johnson told the reporters that Britain is attributing responsibility with a very high degree of probability to Iran for the drone attacks on the Saudi oil installations on 14 September.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States also blame Iran for the attacks.

On Friday, the Pentagon announced to send the additional US troops and missile defence equipment to the region. The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, if asked, the UK would “consider in what way we could be useful.”
