The Ruet – Pakistan’s First Moon-Sighting App Launches

The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Ch announced the launch of Pakistan’s first moonsighting mobile app called ‘The Ruet’. The app will show information about different phases and real-time information of the moon and the Islamic Hijri calendar.

After the official moonsighting committee in Pakistan, Ruet-e-Hilal committee, the app has been named ‘The Ruet’.

The app’s description on the Google Play Store states, “The Ruet is a utility and information application related to moon and sighting of the moon in Pakistan by the Ministry of Science and Technology.”

Also, the ministry of science and technology launched a moonsighting website. The aim is to end the controversy regarding the moonsighting that occurs every year in Pakistan.

The features part of the Ruet App are Current phase and age of the moon, Islamic Hijri Calendar, Setting location manually to any coordinates in Pakistan, New moon details by Islamic months, Moon phases calendar, and Moon, Sun and all major planets’ positions on the interactive sky simulation.
