The revived auto company, Borgward’s SUV BX5 has been seen in Pakistan. It is reported that a private company is importing these cars that were revived two years back by a Chinese company.
From 1890 to 1963, the Borgward cars were in production. As the company failed to compete in the market, the Germans closed it. The financial structure of Borgward was not that strong which compelled the company to halt its operations.

The most popular model that was produced by the company was Isabella. It was produced in 1954 and was sold until the end of the company’s operations.
One of the largest Chinese auto producer, Beiqi Foton Motor, a subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation (BAIC) has revived Borgward. Basically, Foton Motor is BAIC’s commercial vehicle division. It produces SUV’s, MPV’s, light and heavy trucks.
The return of SUV BX7 marks the return of the iconic vehicle after 1961. The vehicle has received a positive response in the Chinese market also. BX5 is a slightly smaller model of the company.
Currently, Borgward cars are sold in the European, Chinese and Malaysian markets. Borgward BX5 was seen in Pakistan recently. It comes in two variants in Malaysia that are 1.4-liter two-wheel-drive and 2.0-liter all-wheel-drive model. The price of the vehicle in Pakistan is not confirmed yet.
