Provincial Minister of the Sindh government’s cabinet Mukesh Kumar Chawala has said that the PPP-led provincial government of Sindh will introduce the smart cards for online tax collection in the province.
Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs said that despite a hard time due to coronavirus, the department has achieved more than 100% tax target during the fiscal year 2019-20.
The minister said that the Sindh Excise department is an important component of the government of Sindh and playing a key role in the tax collection process.
While talking to media after inaugurating the new building of Director General Excise and Taxation at I.I.Chundrigar Road Karachi, he said that the department of the Sindh government is also taking effective measures against the drug-peddlers across the province. “Excise Department of Sindh was the second-largest tax collection agency after SBR,” he added.
Mukesh Kumar Chawala also visited the various parts of the building and appreciated the working environment in the newly constructed building.
It is pertinent to mention here that that on the occasion of the inauguration, Secretary Excise & Taxation and Narcotics Control Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director-General ET & NC Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, and other directors were also there to attend the ceremony.
