The PPP-led provincial government of Sindh has reversed its decision to reopen the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan.
Mansoor Ali Mahesar—Sindh Auqaf Chief Administrator said that the decision to keep the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar closed has been made in the light of the current situation of the novel coronavirus across the country.
Sindh Auqaf Chief Administrator said that it has been decided that all the shrines under the department will remain closed until the situation of the coronavirus in the country normalized.
Earlier on May 26, the PPP-led provincial government of Sindh had announced that the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar would be reopened from today (May 28). The government further said that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) would be ensured at the shrine.
It is pertinent to mention here that the shrine was closed on March 24, when the provincial government of Sindh imposed its lockdown to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus that took lives of the thousands of people around the world.
