The PTI-led provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has extended a ban on the inter-district public transport till April 12. The provincial government said that it is taking the step as a part of the initiative taken for tackling the crisis of novel coronavirus in the province.
According to the details, the ban on the public transport in KPK was imposed initially for one week on March 22 that was extended in the wake of escalation in the transmission of coronavirus and owing to immediate requirement of further preventive measures for the social distancing.
The transport department of the provincial government has also issued the notification in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention here that Section 144 was imposed in the capital city of province Peshawar by the provincial government of KP for 14 days on March 26 after witnessing the increasing cases of the novel coronavirus.
According to the notification issued on March 26, crowds, public gatherings, religious, political, social and other events were banned in order to stop further spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
