The official Facebook page of the Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter has been removed from the platform by the Facebook administration.
According to the details, the social media giant removed the JI’s official page over the advertisement from the party of its upcoming Kashmir March.
Naeem ur Rehman—Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has confirmed that the official Facebook page of his party had been suspended by the Facebook authorities. He further said that the accounts of the admins of the page had also been suspended following the removal of the page.
“The official Facebook page of JI Karachi was taken down around 6 or 7 pm yesterday [Monday evening],” Ameer JI Karachi said.
It is worth mentioning here that Jamaat-e-Islami is scheduled to hold its Kashmir March on December 22. According to the party’s statement, the march will be a display of solidarity with the people of Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir and against the Indian atrocities being committed in the disputed mountainous valley.
Last week, the social media giant has been fined for claiming its services to be free. The competition watchdog of Hungary has fined Facebook with 1.2 million dollars, which is the biggest fine to date, for misguiding the users by making false claims that it offers free services.
