According to an official notification, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) closed the main runway at the Allama Iqbal International Lahore for two months.
As per the details of the notification, the main runway at Lahore’s airport will remain closed as CAA has given the permission to repair the runway.
The 18-L runway at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore has been closed for all national and international flights and the airlines have been told use runway 36-L instead.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), in its notification, said that the work on the main runway will start on June 4 and it will reopen on August 4 for domestic and international flights.
In its notification, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has also instructed the airlines to curtail the number of the passengers in order to reduce the weight of the planes.
The authority warned the airlines that it would take strict action against the violators and impose fines if airlines ignore its instructions.
