The White House has released the declaration of the meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Donald J. Trump on Monday in Washington, DC.
The White House stated in the declaration that the President of the United States Donald J. Trump showed a willingness to strengthen cooperation with Islamabad on several issues that are vital to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the South Asia region.

During the meeting at the White House in Washington, PM Khan and President Trump discussed several issues including counter-terrorism, defence, energy, and trade.
President of the United States wants to establish stronger economic and trade ties with Pakistan, which would benefit both Washington and Islamabad, the declaration reads.
“The United States is committed to creating the conditions necessary for a peaceful South Asia,” it added.
The declaration further added that Pakistan took acknowledgeable steps for the regional security and the counter-terrorism and it also made commendable efforts to facilitate the Afghanistan peace talks. “Pakistan has also taken some steps against the terrorist groups that were active within the country,” it reads.
Washington and Islamabad enjoy a strong economic partnership while both countries have set a new record for bilateral trade in 2018 of $6.6 billion.
