Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has announced on Wednesday that the work of Mohmand Dam project will start in the second week January 2019.

General (retd) Muzammil Hussain, the chairman of WAPDA said that all the initial preparations to start the construction work of the Mohmand Dam have been finalized.

During a press conference in Islamabad, the chairman of WAPDA said that the construction project of Mohmand Dam has been awarded to the joint venture comprising a Pakistani company Descon and a Chinese company CGGC.

The project was awarded to the joint venture after clearing all the codal formalities in accordance with the PPRA rules, the chairman WAPDA further added.

Mr Muzammil further, during the press conference, said that the Chinese company CGGC and Pakistani company Descon have 70-30% shares in the Dam construction project respectively.
