The local administration of the federal capital of Islamabad on Monday has decided to impose a smart lockdown in the five more localities in the capital city as the number of the confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus increased.
According to the notification issued by the office of District Magistrate Islamabad, the smart lockdown will be implemented in G-6/1, G-6/2, G-7/2, and G-10/4. As per the notification, all the entry and exit points of these areas will be sealed.
The authorities have decided that the food item shops, medical stores, general stores, tandoors, and emergency service shops will remain open in the hotspots during the smart lockdown.
Hamza Shafqaat—the Deputy Commissioner of the capital city of Islamabad said that he residents of the affected areas were given enough time to make the necessary arrangements and obtain and store the essential items.
According to the stats shared by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), several new cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the toll of the infected people to 11,219 in the federal capital of Islamabad while the death toll reached 106.
On the other hand, the total number of recovered cases in the federal capital reported as 5,012.
