Telenor is one of the biggest names in Pakistan Telecom sector, a company which should people trust, but the kind of unprofessional and avarice behavior Telenor company has shown was totally unexpected and not acceptable to any consumer.
Reported by the Nation on July 18, a story of Manazir Hayat Ranjha, Lahore in which Ranjha told the reporter about the incident happened with Telenor Company.
Ranjha received money from his friend Rs. 15000/- in his easy paisa account. As soon as the transaction happened, Telenor got the opportunity to credit some money into their accounts and made a quick call to the account holder. Ranjha said the representative was trying to convince him for “health insurance program” and he should buy it. But Ranjha straight away told the Telenor representative that he is not interested in buying insurance.
Later Ranjha went to the Easy Paisa shop to withdraw money but he was shocked when he found Rs.950 missing from the total of Rs. 15000. This set him hot on his heels, he immediately rang back the Telenor helpline and complain about this non-sense non-professional behavior, he said, “When I refused to take any health insurance, then who gave you the right to take my money without my permission?”
Ranjha was absolutely right if it was the country like U.S or UK he could have sued the company for taking money from his account without his permission.
Telenor representative said, “You bought health insurance program that is why money has been debited from your account, but Ranjha said it was not the case, he was never interested in buying.”
The company said, they will check the call records and will reverse the transaction, you will get your money back within three hours.
Now the question is; Company like Telenor is doing this? Why, is the company is making transactions (unauthorized) or whatever, in order to look their Easy Paisa Business better? After all, they are making transactions money going in and out, or think for a moment, Ranjha was in hurry and he would have some important work to do, he could have forgotten to get back his money.
