At the OICCI Women Empowerment Awards, Telenor Pakistan won the Employer of Choice Award for Gender Balance. It was by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Pakistan Business Council (PBC) and another accolade. Telenor Pakistan was competing with 39 organizations but it won the award on basis of its diversity and inclusion steps.
The award ceremony took place in Karachi. The VP Circle South at Telenor Pakistan Umair Mohsin was awarded the Employer of the Choice award and the Chief Human Resource Officer at Telenor Pakistan Lene Gaathaug was awarded accolade of first runner-up.
The CEO Telnor Pakistan Irfan Wahab Khan said, “This recognition on two different platforms validates our efforts towards enabling females in the corporate sector.”
Adding, “This strengthens our aim to continue establishing best practices for diversity and inclusion in the industry. We strongly believe that only by empowering women to contribute towards developing the socio-economic sphere can we achieve our collective organizational and national development goals.”
Chief Human Resource Officer Telenor Pakistan Lene Gaathaug said, “We are proud to receive these awards and thank PBC, IFC and OICCI for the honor.”

It is our belief that through diversity and inclusion we can better understand our customers’ evolving needs and continue empowering societies.”
The awards basically recognized the Pakistan companies and employers that are working to provide equal rights and opportunities to men and women in the workplace.
